I did a fundraiser for the swim team, shooting action, portrait, and team shots with two other parent photographers. Lots of fun, and grabbed some great shots. I was disappointed that more of the fast teenagers didn't sign up for some reason, especially this one fly girl -- incredible.

Very nice shots! I have been taking photos of my 8 year old for the last couple years at her meets. They have all been indoor under atrocious lighting conditions. Looks like the majority of these were outdoor. I'm envious!

Great shots, the head on ones are fantastic, #1 and #5 especially - nice colour and texture in the water as well, really nice ...

Thanks for the complements. Yeah, we are lucky to have such a great pool.

Seen the shot's in the 70-200 thread, and I'm going to say it again, it looks good!

Great shots! I have wanted to go shoot my local high school team but just couldn't fit it in. The head on shots are great.

Really nice work. That second one with the clear goggles and the eyes visible is great but so are the others.

Nice photos. Looks like your taking photos almost into the sun. Did you try a few from the others side with the sun behind you?

Thanks. Yes, I tried into the sun, but the backgrounds were really bad. Unfortunately, only the strongest swimmers looked good in the final yards of their swims. For the younger kids, the keepers are all quite far away without as much background separation. Tough trade-off. I didn't have time to walk back/forth between each swimmer, so I just dealt with the sun. The other thing is that even for the strong swimmers, if I'm going to get a shot with arms completely wide including hands, that had to be at the other end of the pool too. If I shot wide closer, we started getting stuff going on in other lanes (huge pool, 200+ other swimmers there during the shoot).

Here's an example with less background separation, but it's a presentable background. The sun was a challenge otherwise though :-/

Well...the backlighting emphasizes the splashing water, so it´s by all means no bad results you´ve got.

Thanks. A lot of pushing shadows and syncing 1000s of photos in LR4 :)

Get it right in camera and save yourself time on the computer :-) I love to start working 30-60 minutes before a footballmatch and 20-30 minutes after the final whistle I´ve uploaded all photos and I´m heading home.
