I've just finished MFAing my new 5D MkIII & 24-70 II with FoCal. I took photos of the test chart at the suggested MFA setting and at -10 & +10, so I could check the results. I was surprised to find that the set MFA is not showing on the photo information when the info button is pressed. Neither is it viewable in DPP exif info. I have the latest firmware and the latest version of DPP.

My 7D shows the set MFA in DPP and on the photo information when the info button is pressed.

Have I missed a setting on my 5D MkIII or is the MFA setting for each photo no longer available? I've done a quick search here and on Google, but I haven't found anything. I was wanting to double check the MFA settings to make sure I remembered them correctly.

Tim

MFA settings should be displayed when you press "Info" but I noticed that if you you have different settings for wide, and for tele, the MFA will be averaged out to "zero" at certain focal lengths. The MFA display is blank when it reads "zero".

Thanks Mike.

I've tried setting the MFA to "All by same amount" at +10 as a test and taken photos at all focal lengths, but it still doesn't show MFA when info is pressed!

I have never set "All by same amount" before, so I just tried it and sue enough, Info does not show the MFA. I guess that is the way Canon designed it to work.

EDIT: Disregard..... I just tried it again, and now "All by same amount" does display MFA. I am not sure what happened there. Maybe I was looking at the wrong Info page. (the RBG info page doesn't show MFA)

When I took some more photos today I noticed that the MFA setting is now showing! Strange, that it wasn't showing before.
