Taken this morning shortly after Sunrise as the tide was against me and I couldn't cross the causeway until after 9:15am.

Its a good shot, but i find the rusty metal is dominating the pic to much. And its allways taking my eye off of the fence leading to the castle  .

A slightly different twist to a familiar shot from a popular viewpoint. Nevertheless, it is a very good photograph. Well done, Meerkat!

Very Nice shot, but I agree that the rusty metal thing in front dominates the pic. I guess that`s just a matter of individual taste.

I think this is a stunning shot! I wasn't sure about the "rusty metal thing" but I think I like it. Gives some interest to the foreground. I think without it, the castle would seem too small and far away.

That's an amazing shot! I wish I had scenery like that here in Texas! All I have is a bunch of Mesquite trees!

Great Shot!

Very nice David. I like the rusty iron in the foreground and think it adds to the "age" of the subjects in the photo.

Thanks for all the comments. I went up to Lindisfarne with the full intent of adding something to the normal classic shot or finding some new twist to portray the castle. I think I achieved the former and possibly I achieved the latter too but I'll leave it for you to be the judges of that with this different image.

I did loose most of the sky detail in taking this although it wasn't blown-out, however the sun was getting a little too high as it was about midday when it was taken. Possibly, also due to the use of fill flash for the detail in the foreground stones of the ruined building that I shot this from.
