Ran out of suet this evening, and it really is when the Big Dawgs get over here for their evening meal. After fighting off starlings all day, the pickings are slim. So.I thought I would improvise until the morning, and instead of them coming to an empty feeder, I tried some crusty bread with peanut butter and peanuts...lol.yep, someone got his red head in a knot.

First look

Still looking

Then the mayhem( didn;t expect it so sorry for the blur)

That is just so funny! I take everything in at night because of bears and raccoons. I usually put it back out around 5:30 in the morning...no Pileated Woodpeckers, but lots of other birds waiting for me.

Lol! How funny! I guess you learned your lesson!
I'm green with envy that you can lure them to your feeder.

I know its "nicer" to see them do their thing naturally, lol, but I like seeing them, and generations have been at this same location!

Me? Spoiling them? What? I just decided to make my own suet this morning.simple recipe.have it freezing right now. Will give a rating in a few. All natural products.Figured its costs less than half to make a double batch, thats 12 suet cakes, full size!
