I know the 1d III had some production issues, so to anyone who took the upgrade path, is the mark IV as good with autofocus as the mark 2

Just about the perfect amount of resolution, just enough reach, AF is great, 10fps, focuses at f8 without a firmware update, can use Canon focus screens, has the old LED lit AF points vs the LCD that is hard to see at night, ISO management is quite good, etc. I have only 2 small gripes, the movie mode was just an afterthought on how they added it, and it doesn't have spot AF unless you use one of like 5 lenses. Thanks. I will eventually get one, but it will be a bit off. I picked up a 1d mark 2 very recently and cannot get over how good the focus is on that. I side stepped from a 7d and think it was an upgrade (but thats a different thread). I will want a good high ISO camera eventually, I was thinking a 5d2 but not after using the 1d2 flickr

I have no doubt, but i did once have a 1ds which I really liked and now I have a 1d mark2 which is in my opinion the best camera I have owned. I like the solid feel and the reassurance of the weather sealing. I do know the 5d3 has that to an extent but I believe the 1d series to be better (for me at least) flickr

lovemyram4x4 Goldmember More info | Jun 21, 2013 12:24 | #8 For me there's a some things I like better about the AF on the 5DIII and others on the 1DIV, overall I think I'm leaning toward the 1DIV as it seems like it locks focus quicker(judged from results of real world shooting-no real controlled testing) and the lit AF points(both of which help bump up the keeper rate on the fast moving hard to track subjects).

Weather sealing I think most folks bolt before it becomes an issue with the camera. Fuji XT-1, 18-55mm
