I am curious if those upgrading are downloading the upgrade, or are purchasing a boxed set of the upgrade for LR5.

I have seen some mentioned they purchased a boxed set of LR5 for upgrade. I have not been able to find a boxed set anywhere...

just a few of my thoughts...

Download. You don't even need to keep a copy of it on your HDD (although I do, along with the confirmation email with my serial number) because you can always log in to your My Adobe account and review your prior purchases are download again ("My order history" then click on the product). It also displays the serial number you need for installation.

I purchased the box version. But while waiting for it to show up, I downloaded the trial version. Once the box got here, I just added the Serial Num from the box into the trial version.

I wanted to have the printed serial num to store in my closet.

I downloaded the trial. I plan to give them money before the 30 days runs out. I'd like to get the boxed version, but that's sort of a pain, as I'd have to have it sent to my sister in Colorado, then have her open the box and email the key to me. Otherwise I'd have to pay import duty on it here, and they even charge duty on the shipping cost.
