If the rubber came off leaving sharp edges, why did he continue to use it? Granted, communication isn't always as fast as we like at times, but use common sense in not allowing damage if it concerns you. Take self-responsibility in caring for your rigs.

I faced the same thing with my airhed plate, but they replaced it for me
