I have these two filters, and though I would do a comparison.
Part1. White ballance and vignetting.
Setup. Canon 5d3, canon 16-35II at 18mm, lee foundation kit, with only one slot, 82mm wa adapter.
Iso 50, aperture priority, auto white ballance, f11.
No filter: 1/80 sec

WB is auto at 4900, +1
Now using the same WB in LR.

Hmmm interesting. Looks like it depends on whether you want a warm pink cast or cooler green one.

observations
1. both filters obviously are not transmissive of the spectrum to the same extent, and such cause a color cast. Lee is cooler, Hitech is warmer and more cyan.
2. they both block light very similarly (10 stops)
3. the setup vignettes around the same.
4, both work fairly well with AWB, although I like the blue in the sky better with the lee filter.
5. Looking at 200% crops, I cannot discern any loss of sharpness with either fitler.

From the name, it sounds like Hitech wants to be thought of as including IR filtration in their ND. I can't see that claim specifically made in the Hitech site, but increased IR absorption would account for the cyan vs. pinkish cast between the two. I've long considered that IR sensitivity of the various filters has accounted for the colour casts of the various ND filters available.

I believe that ND filters that let a lot of IR through can be identified by their effect of the auto-exposure system of a camera. When I did a test my Hitech ND (no mention of IR) gave a correct exposure at 2s - but the camera's metering suggested that 1/20s would be correct - LINK. That's a difference of aroyund 5 stops!

And when I tried my Heliopan 10-stopper on my IR camera it was only a 6-stopper.
