Wow, crazy how much this lens has dropped in price since its release. My local camera store sold these for $1699 when they first came out. Looks like a nice deal!

Ugh... saw that while searching on eBay, went through the process of the buy it now... and then got told the auction had ended. Evidently I was about 30 seconds too late in starting my order and someone else snapped up the last one.

Agreed. I used this to find a really great price on my cameras.

That is a great price considering the next best thing (Canon 70-200 IS II) is double the price.

Wow, this price was almost as good as I bought mine at... The infamous Amazon pricing mistake almost 2 years ago. I was lucky to get on the deal during that 1 hour window for $950. At that time the lens normally sold for $1,399.

I got mine from a guy who landed that deal. I paid him 975 so he after shipping broke even and had the lens for 8 months haha.

That is a crazy drop in price... I got mine from a newbee that just began a photography course in local college... he needed cash for rent. $900 later it was mine with a wicked 10 year Canadian warranty!

They support the same one-year warranty that is provided by Sigma, no shipping charge, and it's 3-5 day delivery from Hong Kong.

The Tamron and the Canons are a bit better on VC and resolution, but at this price point--I'm happy to put my money down for the Sigma.

Kumsa,
Thanks for the link and I have looked at this before pulled the trigger on the Sigma. I have contacted Sigma customer service and was told that if purchased from non-authorized dealer they will not warranty for the lens, again this is what they told me on the phone.
I decided and purchased from B&H and I know I paid little more but I have a great experience with B&H customer service and their return policy.

I suggest doing some research on digitalrev before making purchases from them. There has been numerous reports that buyer received used goods sold as new.
