Folks,
I have moved from LR 4 to LR5 and I now see issues in the quality of exported pictures. This is the example. On the right side it is how I see in LR and on the left side is the export.Overall, it is not as sharp....a lot of noise. I have turned off sharpen for screen when exporting and still not better.

I've noticed a few problems also. On the adobe site it's mentioned there is a known issue with exported images resized by at least a third not retaining nr/sharpening data but I've also noticed other issues like differences in similar views between the develop and library modules. Also not only has nr/sharpening been lost on export some image look significantly worse.

You're re-sizing on export?

I am changing a size, so for example i did 1200 px on this image, but I have done it for years and there was never a problem.

Yeap, all is the same. I received a note from Adobe that they are aware of this big and it is only relevant in cases when the exported image is less than 1/3 of the original size. They are working on a fix, so I guess....reverting to 4.4 for a time being is the option.

I was noticing the same thing, as i mainly export at 1280px as well.

Its amazing that a final release can have a bug like this. I beleive Adobe updates LR about every 3 months, i hope we dont have to wait that long.

Interesting - I've not really used LR5 much since it was released, I also tend to use Photoshop for my resizing. Better wait for the bug-fix I guess.

This had better be a quick (like this week) solution from Adobe - no way will I pay for the upgrade until this is resolved. From what I've read this bug was not in the beta release, but was actually introduced in the final version. ?!?

add this to the list of reasons i'm not upgrading. I can see the issues with the clone tool, but how was this not hashed out in beta?

Back to 4.4 and all is working perfectly:-)

I forgot that early adopters typically pay the price and do Beta testing...will try to remember it.

Now everything is sharp...as should be:-)

Those pictures look great! I bought the upgrade but haven't gotten around to installing it yet. Maybe I'll wait until 5.1 is released first.

I really like the radial filter but I've had to go back to 4 for now. I tend to shoot at high ISO's a lot so i need to know the NR is working as it should.
