Went out for 5 minutes to see what was happening in the real world, managed this shot with the MP-E @ 1:1

Fantastic work, the Bumblebee is approach to a controlled crash landing is magical. :)

I'm getting more and more curious about your post processing... it looks like you are using a less is more approach. The look is very different from the norm, mystical and refreshing.

Snowy, In a lot of cases the less bit is nothing. My workflow is:

Open all Raw files in DPP.
Check the light levels and adjust the exposure control.
Set the unsharp mask levels.
Save as JPG.
If I have the inclination I open the JPG in PSE, and clean the spots caused by the dirty sensor.
While there I will usually use the noiseware plugin.


The BIF shot has only usm and exposure set in DPP. (you can tell on Flickr, the exif shows the zoom on the MP-E if it has not been processed in PSE).
