I successfully downloaded and installed CC, and found that it doesn't update CS6, but is a stand-alone program, as is Bridge.

Does CC have shared files with CS6, or can you delete CS6 and use the newer CC?

Unless you plan to maintain the CC I would keep CS6 installed and available just in case.

CC & CS6 are two separate programs. You can update ACR (CS6) to v8.1 which will add new cameras but no new features in ACR.

Like Gonzo said - I'd keep CS6 even if I went with CC (which I'm not).

I really don't see the point in keeping CS6 if you've signed on for a creative cloud subscription. CC is the newer version of PS. And you're locked into that contract so it's not like you're going to unsubscribe for a year, right? If you own CS6 outright you can always reinstall it later. If you downloaded CS6 from the cloud then you loose it as well if you unsubscribe when your contract is up so again, no point in keeping it installed.

There are differences, in Bridge CC the output panel has been removed, this alone means it is worth keeping CS6. There are other problems with the text engine in CC that are not it CS6. It is really is up to you and how you use Photoshop. But I would keep CS6 in case you find other problems with CC.

Thanks guys. I am leaning toward a subscription because of some of the enhanced features, and the price for owners of PS CS6 is only $10 per month for the first year and then a continued discount of some sort thereafter. Even at $20 a month, it's still about the same price as an upgrade to a new PS version each year.

Will hold onto CS6 for now.
