The double purchase was installed in 1990 :)

The original fly was standard old hemp and sand bag!

Double purchase actually kind of sucks,. but it helps when space is limited... a single purchase fly is much easier to operate.. less friction fighting you.
They went double in this case as there was no room on the deck to spare.. with double the travel distance is half on the weight side what it is on stage,. (but you have to double the amount of counterweight :( ) this is so the lock rail can be up off the stage floor.

Indeed. Double purchase means more space on deck and more money spent on physio for your cradle loaders.

You said you were tech director? is that in an IT sense or a Lighting / Sound / Flys sense?

All of the above..

Tech director though as in Stage,. Lighting/Sound/Scenery etc..
But I'm also the IT guy by default..

And whe it's time for any work on the building from new seats to instsalling elevators or just fixing the HVAC,. that all ends up being managed ny me too...

Dan,. all I've got uploaded now are what you see,. except for the Ballet shots.. which can be found in the gallery link above.

Sari,. we do mostly music related performances,. Ballet,. Opera and Symphony.. but we also do other dsance and lots of community oriented events.. There's a larger more modern theatre in town that gets all the big Broadway tours etc.. so we can't really compete in that market.

The third poster is my favorite. I love the fish-eye appearance and the details from floor to ceiling. It is simply stunning.

A few years ago they restored our local theater, built in the 1930's. It is amazing the beautiful details they put so much effort in to.

Any time :)

Most shows rent in or travel with an ETC. board,. we have an odd "transision" board dating from 1990.. a 48 channel two scene pre set with computer assist and "submasters" as recodable cues,. 48 subs X 5 "shows" for a total of 240 cues possible..

It and the dimmers were made by a company called "TeaTronics.. " Most people have never heard of it.

Ours is the older "Producer II "

We used to have Carbon Arc Super Troopers for follow sots.. talk about ancient!
I've run a Galdiator at the Civic Center for an Ice show.. you want to talk about HUGE,. I'm not talking about a modern Gladiator,. this was the Gladiator "1" .. carbon arc.. HUGE!

Once upon a time I did a lot of theatre, your post reminds me of it. the funny part is i remember all of the work involved. Those three in the morning final dresses, and the donuts in the dressing rooms while smearing on pancake face, and those endless debates over what should go where and when.... I was never much of a performer but I loved the time leading up to opening night. It must be a lot of fun for you and you certainly have one of the most beautiful theatres I've seen..... Sari.

We've got 2 carbon arc troupers in an old theatre in town. I dont know if they still run, Im dying to warm them up and see!

Your right tho, Teatronnics sounds like some form of electronic teapot.
