Just got a new Canon SX50. It comes with a digital manual but I usually find this just covers the basics.

For my DSLR, I purchased one book and one ebook specifically for my DSLR model which I found extremely useful. The book was used around home and the ebook on my smart phone for inspiration while I was out.

There aren't any books/ebooks for the SX 50 yet (I did order a cheat sheet I found) so I was wondering if anyone could recommend a favourite general photography book/ebook - free or paid?

I did find a used hardcover book by Tom Ang called "The Complete Photographer" that should be a good inspiration, but I will definitely want a few ebooks for my smart phone and perhaps more books as well.

What are your favourites? I would prefer ones that work for small compact digitals rather then requiring a DSLR.

Get "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson.
Most recommended book for people learning photography. This book will be more useful than most camera "guide" books. After you learn the many concepts of photography, you wouldnt need a camera guide or manual, as you will realize all cameras operate in a similar manner.
