I'm thinking of this for the backdrop: http://www.amazon.com …psc=1&smid=A17W6NLJ3OBMCK (external link)

and I'm thinking of just ordering the paul C bluff beginner package. It's a B400 stand modifier bag and black cover for bounce option all for 372. throw in a beauty dish as well.

Then order me a set of 4 622Cs to trigger everything and get some backdrop muslims and I'm good to start with all for about 700. My 430ex will be a rim light/BG light.

Then will add a couple E640s down the road mmmm

I use 622c's for my flashes but I'm really considering getting a Cyber Commander and CSRB+'s for my strobes. Another plus is that the Cyber Commander has a built in incident meter and is cheaper than a Sekonic light meter. Too bad I already own a light meter though.

Unless you are trying to hypersync or supersync there isnt much of a reason to buy the 622's. For the cost of one you can buy a whole bunch of YN RF 603 or 602's. If you want remote control the cyber commander and cybersyncs are good.

Huh?...a flash as old as the 622 would not have preflash capability which is required for ETTL support. Heck my Metz45CL4 which is from the 1990s doesn't have preflash, and Metz 45CL could not support ETTL until after the 'Digital' model was launched at Photokina 2006.

One good reason to get the 622 is the massive power...GN200 at 35mm coverage angle, while the 580EX at same coverage is a measily GN118...nearly 2EV brighter!

Canon dSLR system, Olympus OM 35mm system, Bronica ETRSi 645 system, Horseman LS 4x5 system, Metz flashes, Dynalite studio lighting, and too many accessories to mention

Thank you. All I'm looking for is a wireless trigger for the B800 and a couple speedlights in manual mode.

With that being said I just bought a B800 from a POTN member and bought a Y560II and a set of 4 of the RF-603s

I just need some modifiers and a few stands and I'll have my initial budget setup. Thanks for the help

you can get amazing results with simple, cheap umbrellas. definitely don't need expensive $500+ brand name beauty dishes.

I think my total setup for one B800, 430EXII and the 560II, wireless triggers stands modifiers etc I'm thinking is definately under 1k. My total flash investment. Maybe like 800.

The Ravelli background support is nice for the price. I have one plus Photoflex and Linco. The footprint of the Ravelli stands is by far the largest so takes up a lot of room, something to think about if you are going to leave it set up in a room.
