U-12 Soccer, C&C Wanted

Some photos from a tournament a week or two ago. All were shot with a 1d Classic, Sigma 100-300mm F4, iso 400.

nice sharp set

Very nice, not too much to critique, like #2 the least as the boy in white is distracting. That Sigma seems to be working well for you. It has a great range for sport photos.

Yeah but if I cut off the boy white, I lose almost all of the ball. My timing was off a little bit on this one as the ball has already come off his head. Closest I have come to getting a header, let a lone in focus. I'll crop more of the boy in white out tomorrow at work and see what it looks like.

On my monitor they all, except for the last one, look over-saturated and the faces are excessively red.

I use Photoshop CS5 for editing and color adjustment and I did a quick pass at #1 to keep the red in the uniform but cut back the red in his skin tones. Took about 2 minutes.

I'm guessing it's a optical illusion but it really looks as if he has only one arm

Nice pictures. The 1D was my first real sports camera (bought used). For a 4 mp camera, the images it produces are fantastic. After 2 years it died. I then purchased a 7D and last fall bought a 1D mkIIn. Love the 1D cameras.

I'd bin #2. The rest are good shots.

Timing was off on this one. I have yet to a ball on the head of the player!
