Hi Paul, welcome to the forum. I like your shot, but had a couple of suggestions. First, it looked as though it needed a little straightening and perhaps some of the sky cropped out. While I was at it, I added a little USM and tweaked the contrast in curves. After doing all that, I'm not sure I like mine any better than yours. The problem I have with both shots is that the subject goes right across the middle of the picture. I think I would have liked to see more water at the bottom to move your subject, the boardwalk, into the upper third of the picture.

I agree, I like the colors better in the ocean than in the sky

Welcome Paul. Nice photo, great colors.

I have a sister in Boulder Creek, just up the road. You have lot's of great places to shoot there. Looking forward to seeing more.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

The main issue here is the tilt factor - it becomes a much better shot when it's straightened out.

Composition is a little bland, but the interesting details (amusement rides, people on the beach and their reflections) outweigh it.
