Charles Town Cannons baseball

I was asked to cover the inaugural season of the Charles Town Cannons for our local newspaper. The Cannons are part of the Valley Baseball League which is comprised of 12 teams. Valley Baseball League is known as the "Gateway to the Majors" with several players making it to the Majors over the years. Each team is made up from several colleges around the U.S. The Cannons have players from Oklahoma State, Alabama State, Liberty, Arkansas State, Sam Houston State, Auburn and others. What I like about the league is the use of wooden bats - no aluminum pinging here. Since this is their first year, their home field is one of our local high school's field.
