Congrats, kb. Excellent conversion and treatment; it really sets off this image. My wife thought the hunk is, well...she growled.

Fun entries all.

Thanks Jason, Kevan, Mo and Matrix. Jason, glad to hear the knees are doing well. I was talking to my brother in law during our trip to Georgia a couple weeks ago and he has had both hips replaced and he is 100% pain free for the first time in decades.

Kevan ... LOL ... Brian is my oldest son ... Let's just say that the young man he has become bears little resemblance to our fearful predictions during the formative years ;)

Thanks again and I'll have the new challenge up in a short.

Paul

It is nice to be able to breathe a sigh of relief when they have grown up and turned into decent human beings. :)

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

And now, some words...

Kevan: Nice balancing dissection of subject and it's reflection, with nice angled waves to add some tension. Centered composition is okay here for me, but I think it would have been cooler in landscape with the subject left.

Mo: Looks like the young lad has his scooter balance down, but perhaps should watch where he is going... ;) I understand this scooter rider is deep in concentration, but I'd love to see some more of his face.

L.J.G.: The shot itself is not crappy, just the composition needs some TLC. This really could have been a nifty composition, had you gotten closer (if you could get closer). The balanced rock is nearly lost in the frame at this distance, blends in a little bit. First, I would have landscape framed the the 3 rocks that descend from left to right at a closer distance, and then I'd get in closer to the balancing rock and go bonkers with composition. Point of information, this particular challenge requires submissions to have their name in the MESSAGE SUBJECT LINE of your post. If a submission is not named, then one would type in Untitled, no title, or something similar. Thanks.

Kb: Master sits in the upper left frame gazing leftwards, while servant sits in the lower right searching right...balance. The walking stick connects the two, but the connection goes beyond that. Man, and his best friend in their environment.

I agree with the monotone treatment, but not with sephia. My personal opinion. Nicely seen.

dzablay: Now I've seen it all; inexpensive scooter "Stuntas"! Yes, that is balance in extremis. Good exposure and colors, though the background is distracting and interacts with your main subject. A shutter speed of 1/1600 sec an aperture opened up to F/2 (focused on the riders) face would have given you 2 more stops of subject isolation and would have also kept the front wheel in focus. Also, as I mentioned above with L.J.G; this particular challenge requires submissions to have their name in the MESSAGE SUBJECT LINE of your post. If a submission is not named, then one would type in Untitled, no title, or something similar. Thanks.

Matrim: This one gave me a chuckle, and if we could get this promissory note to President Obama, the Zimbabwean windfall could help balance our budget.

Scatter: Yeah, they look balanced, hope either of them don't sneeze. Or worse, answer a cell phone. Stage lighting is tough, and you handled it well with minimal (not blaring) body blow out, and the colors look great, too. This extraordinary feat of balance seems a little unrepresented in this framing, sometimes we just do not get that moment to freeze with our cameras. Nice attempt.

Jason
