I'm a wedding photographer. I have a 5D3, a couple of 5D2's, and a 50D. I use Stratos II triggers and 580 flashes.

My typical setup for receptions is the stratos trigger in the hotshoe, a 580 into the stratos' hotshoe, and the trigger fires off a couple of other flashes around the room. With the 5D2's and the 50D, this works perfectly and they fire 100%; never a miss.

This same setup with the 5D3 has been very inconsistent; I'd say about a 3-5% miss. That doesn't sound like a lot but it's bad news when the miss happens during a "have-to" shot.

The 5D3 fires a 580 plugged directly into the camera's hotshoe 100% of the time so I don't think it's the camera or the shoe. The triggers work flawlessly with my other cameras so I don't think it's them. I'm guessing there's some small incompatibility between these triggers and the 5D3?

Does anyone else have similar experiences or know something of the issue? Thanks.
