I am looking to simplify my mounting systems a bit between my tripod, mono-pod, pano-head and such.
I have a Manfrotto 804-RC2 on my sort of backup/at home heavy tripod, and I have a Manfrotto 234RC tilt head for my monopod.
In addition to that, for my light portable tripod I have a Photo Clam ball head with Arca Swiss, and I also use a nodal ninja M2 which uses Arca Swiss.
For my camera, a Canon 5D III WITH BG-11 battery grip, I use a Black Rapid Sport Strap. I do also have the Canon 70-200 F2.8 II, which of course has the tripod collar.
I've been looking at the Custom SLR M-Plate Pro, and Mini-Plate. What I was thinking is I can leave my Black Rapid connected to the extender piece, and it is supposed to work in the Manfrotto QR plate system as well as the Arca-Swiss.
I do wonder if with the 70-200 lens if the tripod collar will get in the way of the extender piece for the plate. If not I could use the M-Plate mini my the lens, and then mount from a few different places.
Does this setup make sense? Any suggestions?
