Thanks!

What kind of split toning should I use here? I tried something with brown, but this picture seems to have some kind of "metallic" effect, I cannot find out what is that exactly...

Could you post the image your trying to change. I'd also be more then happy to take a stab at it if you have the raw file and then send you the exported settings.

Also, if an image isn't yours (which I'm assuming, since you're asking how to do it), you can only post a link to it…

Oh, if you ask for a link for image I posted in opening post, I do not have a link, I have it only offline ATM

I do not need particular image post-processed, I would like to somehow learn how to consistently output such style :)

Thanks guys

In a nutshell, It is just Split toning, Lower contrast, Individual Color Saturation lowered, Lights Raised and Shadows Raised.

As already pointed out the effect is obtained by split toning and can be achieved through the Split Toning panel in Adobe Camera Raw or Lightroom or Curves adjustment.

In this specific photo the effect is a function of lighting and split toning. Just by observing the hard shadows cast on the bride's chest and on the wall behind her there's a strong likelihood that the photographer used a bare, unmodified flash positioned above the groom(judging by the shadow of the groom's nose) and to the left of the camera (notice his body casts a shadow on the bride).

You can also use Color Samplers at the white, grey, and black points to understand how the Curves were manipulated to achieve the effect.

Based on the sampler points you can see that all three RGB channels were lowered at the white point and raised at the black point. The blue channel was most adjusted at both ends and notice the grey point sampler shows elevated blues in the midtones. The Reds are also elevated in the shadow areas.

This pertains to this image alone and shows the technique used to adjust it but you really can't make generalized conclusions that this specific approach works on all images; it always depends on the content of an image.

Thank you very much PixelMagic.

Nice hints, I know where to go now, I will try something using your advice in curves/levels :)
