Well as these shots obviously show, it was my first attempt today with my camera. Tried out all different settings. Some obviously stink, others I think look ok. Figured I'd share here :)

Camera(s): 7D, (wishing for a 5dm3)
Lenses: Tamron 70-200 f2.8 VC / Tamron 75-300 f/4-5.6 / Canon Nifty Fifty / Tamron 10-24 f/3.5-4.5

Handheld? Tripod?

If you are using a tripod, I would suggest you turn off image stabilization.

IMG_0036 has potential, as does IMG_0023.

no tripod yet :( didn't have the money for one, but it is def on my list.. so is a monopod.

:) Photography can be an expensive hobby. LOL

Here are a few links on photo composition concepts that will help you compose your images.

Before you buy a tripod make sure you do some searches on POTN and do plenty of research, so that you buy a quality tripod & ballhead that will last you for a while (so you're not spending $$ twice).

You're right. Many of these stink, and some are respectable. Kudos to you for letting us see all of them. Keep at it, and your "keeper" percentage will improve.

Shot some paintball pictures today.. downloading them off the camera now. Weather didn't cooperate much with me today :(
