In my view the Tokina 11-16 with the Kenko 1.4x tele should allow for sharp photos past a lens aperture of f/2.8, but I am not a pro.

No PP (sharpening and the rest) done to the photos except for what CS5 does automatically. No tripod used. 11mm at f/2.8 12mm shows easily corrected vignetting I removed the images in the quote to save space. Thanks for Reading & Good Luck - Jim

My experience on my 5D MK II this is more pronounced and makes the combo less desirable (I think the MK III uses a correction profile that the MK II does not), . . extreme corner performance wide open includes softness and CA on par with most fast wides but stopped down I've been impressed and very happy with performance on the MK III. So much in fact that with my 7D long gone, that for my now and then wide angle needs I'm hanging on to it until the mythical 14-24 comes out to finish my 2.8 holy zoom trinity. Would I buy this lens to use on full frame(?) - No! But since it's been in the kit and gets the job done, I'm in no hurry to by a 16-35 or 17-40 (to only need to sell later) as I can handily get by until my dream wide comes along. Yet another reason to love the Tokina 11-16 2.8 besides what a killer it is on a crop! Here's a 5D MK III shot at 16mm, no profile correction @ 5.6 Image hosted by forum (655977) © doc.paradox [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Please log in to see the good quality stuff.
