my Brother and Sister in law have an anniversary next week
here are photos of their two daughters, which I want to make a large print of for them to have in their home.

would love to hear feedback on whether these images are nice enough or have room for improvement. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I really like the first one (Lily) but the second one (Ella) her face is a little dark but with sun behind her so strong didn't want to make look artificial (photoshopped)

thanks!

Both are wonderful captures and ones which I am sure the family will cherish.
I like the main focus with the blurred background too.
With the sun behind the subject, did you have an opportunity for a reflector, or a small blip of fill flash?
I know you mentioned not wanting to PP, but a simple 'adjustments layer' for increasing the lightness, even at a low 15% may draw the areas out.
Nonetheless, they are 2 natural shots.

Tons of enthusiasm, loads of kit, limited skill...

thanks reheat for the kind words!

no, these were spontaneous shots at the city Dog Park. I actually took the camera to shoot our dogs and the other beautiful dogs that are usually present at the park. I did not plan on getting such nice shots of my nieces. I have reflectors and 580EX II, just need to put them in the trunk of the car so I will have them on hand for such occasion as I seem to forget them far too often.

I will do the adjustment as you suggested and see how it looks. Thanks for the feedback! I am hoping to make these something special for him and his wife.
