Cloudy and rainy, I decided to take this in mind to convert to B&W

What are your thoughts?

This is lovely. It has a very balanced and calming feel to it and would look great hung up somewhere with a decent mount.

I think I'd tweak the beams with 'skew' or similar to get them exactly straight....

i agree something seems not quite balanced properly, but its good otherwise, straighten it properly and you'll have a winner.

I like it a lot. It's a little crooked. I almost wonder how it'd look without the horizon.. just leading off into the water forever.

i much rather prefer it with the horizon. that is cut of at just the point the land touches.

Yes and no with the updated version...just get rid of the far shore and go directly to sky. I would require some subtle blending though. ;)

For me it's too centered, too symmetric. Consider only getting part of the piers in the image with the other half water to make it more interesting instead of a dead-on composition. Something like this. Experiment.

We all have our tastes.
I like you've straightened it up, but I like the shoreline at the top. Gives it a place of being and paints more of a picture that it has succumbed to time. Your updated version leaves me just looking at concrete pylons.

Swoffa - here is the latest
I tend to agree with you - though I am in two minds of leaving in the shoreline as the OP, or this version.
Both convey slightly different meanings to me

What do other think?

Last edit looks good to me. I also like the shoreline in the original.
