I bought my lens from Cameraland. Perhaps they advertise them as "open box" in order to sell them under MSRP, and perhaps they don't qualify for the rebate because of that. But they told me the lens I was sent was brand new never opened, and it certainly looked like that when I got it. Tools: 70D, 10-22, Tamron 24-70 VC, 70-300L, 135 f2L

No AFMA adjustment needed, sharp at all focal lengths except some softness / loss of contrast at 70mm f/2.8 (stopping down to f/3.2 helps quite a bit). Just a bit larger and heavier than the 24-105L, significantly smaller and a bit lighter than the Canon 24-70 "brick". Tools: 70D, 10-22, Tamron 24-70 VC, 70-300L, 135 f2L

I'm very tempted to try one out soon! Carmen
