I'm not fortunate enough to have a 400mm lens, will a 2x tele converter be suffice for 70-200mm that I have?

Yes, I know there is going to a stop or two down when using them, but is the teleconverter good?

i've never used a 2x TC (which will lose two stops), but the 1.4TC works pretty well on a 70-200 (or any lens, for that matter).

Use it on my 50D to make up the "lack of focal length" on the 5D MKII?

if you have enough light, sure.

or if you need to go w/ higher ISO, use it on the 5D2 and crop some...the higher MP will help in that regard.

try both!
