I posted these in the Nikon thread, but I was so pleased with them (whistles innocently) I thought I'd post them here, too. Shots were taken on Friday. A kind couple from Austin Texas watched my backpack and such while I waded out up to my chest in the water lol.

Shots were taken w/D800 + 24-70mm 2.8 + Hoya ND4

I'm sure wading in the river to get these was refreshing with the high temps the west is having.

Yeah it was in the mid-high 80s, pretty hot. Was glad I went friday. Sat/Sunday were unbearable I didn't leave the apartment lol.

Thanks! I have a crazy idea for getting down to the falls below it (metlako lol). But, I don't do rock climbing or anything like that, but I'm thinking with a rope and some work I could get down there for a good view of it lol.

There is a path to shoot Metlako Falls from the top, but it is pretty hairy. I started down it, and then turned back. I was alone, and it was very loose and steep in some places. I didn't want to be the guy they talked about in the news when someone found my body a week later... ;-)a The path is supposed to take you to here (external link).

Yeah, down sorenson creek or w/e, I think that is (the creek that guy is wading down). I might do that one one of these weekends. I want to actually get to the *bottom* of metlako LOL.

I have a couple crazy ideas for possibilities. Easier one is probably waterproof case for the camera, life jacket, and wade/swim up later on when the water is a bit lower in the fall. Worse idea involves a couple ropes, rappel down (never done that before, but how hard can getting down be, honestly, right?). Take pics. Tie camera backpack to rope and have my gf above pull the camera gear back up. Then I (with life jacket on) mozey down the creek to a spot that is easy to get up, lol.
