i might be in the market to replace my expensive 600ex RT sets. would the 560 be the one to replace it if all i need is reliable off camera manual flashes (flash on camera triggering flashes off camera)? i do not do any ettl. the 600ex menus are complicated to use and just looking for simplicity.

even the 568ex ii looks interesting

getting sort of complicated to see what each of YN's flashes does on their site.

I use a 560 for OCf, and I love it. I think it's very user friendly, easy operation, and been reliable to me so far.

I've got some 560s and they work fine. Optical triggering works but is subject to any flash firing in their field of view. :-)

I've got 6 older ETTL and manual speedlites that get very little use because the 600EX-RTs are so versatile. And the menus become easier the more they are used.

hmm, promising.

so basically im looking for:
-ease of menu use. sure i am used to the 600ex menu but it could be easier.
-radio capability. not optical, not infaraed
-reliability. cant miss a beat. this is for weddings!
-flash to flash triggering like the 600ex. i dont like dealing with separate triggers.

if the YN checks out on all these fronts. i may pick up a set just to put them through their paces and sell off the expensive 600s.

can the 560iii trigger another 560iii? what im reading suggests that it is only a receiver tiggered by another yn standalone trigger.

Its a manual flash with a built in optical slave so when set to slave mode any flash can trigger it.

The 560III can not trigger another 560III (well optically it can but I'm assuming you're talking via radio signal). It only has a built in radio receiver, no built in transmitter.

The RF-603 can trigger the 560III's - this is a manual only set up.

If you have a camera that has flash control menus, then the YN-622 triggers are the way to go with ETTL flashes - you will be able to ETTL or Manual or Mix them with the YN622 triggers, and have 2nd curtain sync and HSS.

See Clive's Guide in the signature.

Godox/Flashpoint r2 system, plus some canon stuff.
