got this one today sleeping.this is a FF shot with mpe-65 @1-1,and 5dmk111,no cropping at all.no idea on the I.D. submitted to bug guide.it,s a bot fly. Cuterebra abdominalis, a rabbit bot fly. no mouth parts and the adults like this one only live for a few days

thank you all for the comments.
I must say that the fly was collected,and will be heading to the university of massachussets,where they are doing research on them.it,s only the 3 rd specimen of it,s kind to be examined since the early 1700,s.they will collect DNA,freeze it at -80 c,to preserve it,then will send the mounted specimen to the smythsonian institute museum where it will remain on display,and the DNA will be available to anyone worldwide for research purposes.
