Sweet.

My ex (photo buff) just started messaging me on FB the day I posted pics of the 70D...

And after I posted this pic on my FB she was like: "My husband got the SLR in the divorce...... "

And guess what came next?

"What are you doing tomorrow Rick? Want to go to the festival with me?" <----- It must be the grip. MEOW!

Am I missing something simple or do I have an issue?

I have the 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 STM and I can't for the life of me get it below F4.0

18-55 f3.5/f5.6? Well, anything greater than 18mm is going to be something greater than f3.5. Try putting it all the way to 18mm

I'm not transformed, just very excited and happy about my new camera. No more housework this weekend, going to go out and find something to shoot as soon as my battery is charged up and ready to go.:D:D:D If Calicajun wants dinner he can take me out or cook it himself.

Just make sure he takes you somewhere with good lighting so you can practice some food photography with your 70D. ;)

Great idea, one of those places with a nice enclosed patio sounds good to me:D

You are having fun with the new toy. Very cool. I'm jealous. Will get mine someday when funds are available.

Editing the RAW photos I took with the Canon PRO-1 was so easy because the camera was limited in what it could do to an extent.

But now I'm only limited by my experience and knowledge, not the camera. And that, I'm totally fine with. Because all the shots I'm getting/taking with the 70D I could never do with the PRO-1 to begin with.

Don't be jealous though, I've saved for this camera and all the accessories for a good year. And wanted to jump into the EOS lineup since 2006. It's long overdue....

But now I can really say: "Did you check your F-stop dumb dumb?" after that and really laugh since that's a joke line I've been saying for years and guess who the joke was on. :P

Ranger-grip looks really nice. Temptingly nice in fact.
I'm going to crown the 70D tomorrow with a Sigma 35mm from Amazon/Adorama.
Played with video today, did a short film for a fellow backpacker in Australia who uses the same ultralightweight baking kit in his backpack. I felt the 70D was the 'video' answer to Sony's platform and I do believe that Canon has succeeded with a couple of minor exceptions.
