I'm surprised people are still trying to recommend the 7D over the 70D.

I understood why that was the case over the 60D, but I can't think of any really good reasons to chose the 7D over the 70D. The 7D is pretty old hardware at this point, it's a a great camera, and anyone should be happy to get one if that's what you want (for nostalgic purposes or what not), but the 70D is a better choice between the these two options right now, IMO.

If you want a 7D, then wait until the replacement for that comes out.

Where did you see these TeamSpeed?

Not sure, I will just leave that reply there until my 7D sells, and then I probably will retract it if I cannot find anything to corroborate it. :)

There are a few tricks that the 7D has up its proverbial sleeve that the 70D doesn't, and the 7D is cheaper. That is the first 2 things I thought of. Age of camera matters little, its the function, form, and performance that speaks volumes when comparing any two bodies.

7D is not cheaper. $1,199 vs $1,499 body only on B&H

I was leaning towards the 7D for the past year until the 70D came out. For a lot of what I do the articulating screen would come in handy. The rest of the specs were close enough that when I finally decided to buy I went with the 70D. Just picked it up from UPS today.

For m, either camera is a hell of a step up from the XS that I have been blasting with for the past five years...lol

Unless by cheaper you were referring to the used one that you are trying hard to sell....lol

See the 7D is more costly, obviously it is much better. Case closed....

I guess maybe someone could see the 7D a better fit for them, but again I'd wait for the 7D II, maybe a 7D used would be an OK choice right now.

You forgot the obvious...The 7D's top of the line, the 70D, though newer, is only replacing the 2nd in line...of course the 7D's better. I mean, if BMW were to release a new BMW 328i who in their right mind would buy that instead of the previous generation, but still new, M3.

(I'm not sure if that'll help yours sell but I gave it a crack :-) )

I appreciate the help.... I have already thought about pulling the sale, and ordering the Opteka MCH-25 dual camera setup (much like the cotton carrier), because basketball is right around the corner, and I could use both formats very nicely this season. I don't think the SL1 will quite do the trick. :)

I thought about the dual Rapid Strap setup, however I don't want both cameras dangling because of courtside chairs, rails, etc. and then kids and people that mill around carelessly.

Nah, I am going to keep it, and sell it when the mythical 7D2 comes out and trounces the crop landscape. Muhahahaaa!
