 Wow! I know why the posts were removed, but damn, those were something to see (in a watching a disaster unfold sort of way).

Now I absolutely HAVE to get this camera! Those last few posts really sold me on it. Great stuff; weird, wild, wacky stuff.

Like I said, this gotta be the best camera review of all. Cant wait when these babies comes to the store. I wanna test it. I really need to test it. Atleast just for the weight for God sake.

Who knew? Maybe he was the next Henri Cartier-Bresson...

Or, the next Caligula.

Probably. It did appear that the syphilis had already taken hold.

I really just feel sorry for the other members who were trying to engage with that level of crazy on any meaningful level.

When Canon makes an announcement about a release more than a day in advance, 9 times out of 10 it's for a crap P&S. At best it's for an EOS M replacement. Although they are way overdue for lens releases. So far in 2013 it's only the 18-55 STM and the 11-22M that isn't even coming to the states.

Yea, I just happened to be on my lunch break so I caught it... basically Zim went nuts, it was quite the spectacle.

Wasn't the 22mm STM also released at the same time? Either way, it's definitely the most popular lens, and I think for most users the only one they need. However, I'd like a nice 85mm or so equivalent pancake to compliment it... plleeeeeeeaaaaasssse Canon ;)

Or, the next Caligula.

A recent article on the BBC website discussed whether Caligula was really all that bad - he had gotten a bad rap from a smear campaign by those that ousted him, and they played up all the redonkulous rumors to justify their actions.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-23455774 (external link)

Anyway, I have no idea why anyone would worry about that kind of weight differential. (Not Caligula's, the 70D vs 7D!) Once you start shooting you get used to it, IMHO. And the 70D or even a Rebel is not "too small/light" a body for the 70-200 2.8 - my T3i is quite happy to take pics with it and it doesn't feel unbalanced in my hands. Different balance than the 5DII, sure, but it's a different balance compared to the 28mm on the 5DII, and no-one claims either pairing is the only balance that matters.

IMHO, I suppose, or maybe I haven't found that zen moment where the balance of lens and body make the perfect harmony, and even considering touching a T3i with 100-400 mounted will open up a rift in time and space as though we divided by zero.

;)

I'll leave it to you and the BBC to defend Caligula! I was going for reputation, not reality, anyway! (And someone far enough away from present company that no one could take offense, since this is an international board! There are some present or recent past examples of people who are/were equally nuts.)

Based on this thread in CanonRumors:

http://www.canonrumors.com/forum/index.php?topic=16070.0 (external link)

... and the sample images linked to in that thread, it sure looks like the 70D will *not* give us any significant increase in DR or low light ISO capability. I await some real reviews to confirm this, but early indications are that the 70D IQ is pretty much in line with the 7D and 60D. :(

Like they said, it's an APS-C sensor....

I wish it would have had Digic6 but for me PERSONALLY, I feel going from a Canon PRO1 > EOS-70D is a great upgrade. If people are comparing a full frame 7D to a 70D... I don't think that's fair comparing full frame to APS-C.

What's the worst that can happen, you upgrade to a 70D, don't like it....and go get yourself a Nikon? LOL.... WAH.
