Thanks - just Lightroom. No filters or anything just playing with some of the balances and such.

Photo is great! What's the blue and yellow stuff on their M16s?

I've got one of those flickr (external link) accounts, too! I'd list my gear, but it's nothing exciting.

Not M16's - C7's actually. They have the flash on them to identify them as training weapons, or dummy weapons. They were also used during a water insertion from said helicopter.

Nice photo. The green is just a bit too saturated for my taste.

Cool info. I didn't realize the Canadians had their own version of the M16.

Thanks - and I appreciate the feedback as well.

No problem, many people don't believe that we have and often make our own kit.

Actually, most US personnel do not use M16 anymore, if any. We switched to AR15 years ago.

I always wondered about that...

In looking at them all, though, they would appear to come from the same family with only minor changes made along the way depending on which user country it ends up with.

Sorry to thread hijack but the Army still uses the M16. It's being supplemented by other rifles, primarily the M4, which looks a lot like a standard AR15 with the adjustable stock. The AR15 is a semi-automatic version of the M16 whereas the M16 and M4 are capable of either full-auto or three-round-burst.
