Why would anyone need that much power?

Large modifiers in roomsets, spot projectors, strip lights, window light, fresnel spots.. to name a few applications.

Huge modifiers outside on sets to compete with the sun. If you use a large scrim at 15-20ft away you need lots of power.

You dont even have to be shooting large format, using medium format digital(which is MUCH smaller) for shooting products and food requires a LOT of power, I was at 1800 w/s with ISO 50 and still had to push exposure over one full stop...

A few people here have well over 10,000 w/s in lights for studio work(thats you foodguy)

This is just crazy. My maglite provides more than enough light for my needs. You almost need a nuclear reactor just to power that much strobe. /endsarcasim

Jesus. Have any 202vfs you want to sell cheap? Haha.

I wish speedotron would release an update to their high speed head.... I suppose one could always get a (modern) fast head from some own else and modify it.

I'd kill for a bi tube 205vf head....
