Hi guys,
I'm pretty new to photography, just figuring everything out. Picked up my Canon while on a holiday in The Haag Holand, and running around with the camera everywhere I go here in Czech hoping to figured out the setting and what not. Here are some first shots

Welcome to the forums. That first shot is outstanding. The clarity and composition is very good, but the second one you missed focus. He may have moved, or you didn't focus on the eye. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Thank you very much, I am still learning, on the second picture I did notice the head being a little blurred, why do you mean by focused on the eye, I mainly focused on the body it self which could have made the corners a bit blurry? I do apologize if some of my future questions might be a bit hmmm basic :) I will mainly spend my time here learning the ropes and fallowing other photographers

Great shot of the elephants . What kind of fox is that ? Are they as big as the foxes in the USA ?

You can pick the focus point yourself in the camera, and then focus on the eyes. The majority of photographers will tell you, if the eyes are not in focus, then the photo doesn't work. Most, myself included set the camera to use the center focus point, then aim that at your subjects eyes. You can always crop your photo later if you are not happy with the composition. Main subjects are best if they are a little off center. You will feel over-whelmed at first, but hang out here and you will improve as much as you want too. Put a photo in the "Critique" section and you will get lots of help.

First shot is very nice. I would never have guessed the animal in the second shot was a fox.
I think you are off to a very nice start and welcome to the forum, I learn something here nearly everyday.

Nice shots. The second animal resembles some sort of marten more than a fox, but I could be wrong...

Thank you very much, I would like to end up doing sports, no matter how much I try, I am not getting either the settings on the camera right or I am very bad with LightRoom, but I wont give up. At the moment I am trying to get some decent shots of a friend at a pump track with no luck.

The animal is yellow mongoose in Czech Mangusta Lisci (Liska meaning fox) sorry for the confusion there :)

Image number 1 is really well composed. Looks like you got there just at the right time.
