Hi guys,

I am very fortunate to live only 15mins away from the famous Avebury standing stones in Wiltshire, UK. So I got up nice and early yesterday morning and took these shots; started shooting at 07:30. There will be more to follow.

All shots were taken using my new 10-22mm EFS lens, tripod and remote. Most were taken at 10mm and some using flash for fill. RAWs were converted using RSE and PS was lightly used for croping and some blemish removal.

As always, please feel free to C&C.

Ian.

i agree, #3 is very powerful. theres a funny 'aura' going on round some of the stones. is this due to sharpening or something? i find it a bit distracting in #4. looking forward to seeing some more though, these are nice:)

I like #1 best. The way the long shadows cast by the stones seem to compliment the form of the clouds. There seems to be a feeling of agelessness about it. Would clone out the cars just visible on the right.

Thank you for sharing

Jackie,

I did notice the cars, I completely agree. I will re-post this one later when I upgrade some more shots.

Ian.

Ian, great shots - I'll go for No.2 and No.3 the former for the simplicity of the image and that sky and the latter for the strength. The one thing which spoils the second is that contrail I'd certainly be tempted to clone it out. Good shooting
