Here is my youngest daughter posing for me. I tried to make the background brighter but, I wasn't able to get enough light to it.

cute kid just wait till she gets older. I hope you can shoot a shotgun. I like the image too. The only thing that bothers me is the wrinkles. Looks like she lost a foot

Thanks for the response jr#8. I didn't even notice that her foot was covered. And by-the-way, I am pretty good with the firearms.

Perfect pose! Very relaxed and natural. I would think that the background would be fine if it were a little darker than it is. As long as you keep it wrinkled it would look like that's what you wanted.

Thanks Sam. I was trying to get that blown out look on the background but I don't think I had enough light. I really appreciate the photos you post, your results are my goal.

That is very flattering, Thank you!

Before I bought my alien bees I would set up outside or next to a big window to get the background bright enough. If you have the sun come in through the background (I used a sheet) then it's like a huge light behind your subject. Then use fill flash to expose the subject. It's tough to manage, but I had some shots I liked.

If she remains comfortable in front of the lens she will probablly be comfortable in front of groups of people. That will give her a strong advantage in life. Good work.

Thanks Pat. So far, she is a ham with us at home and around other family. She tends to be a little clingy when we are out and other people are watching.

I like the pose, but as I love close-ups, it leaves me wanting to see her face more close up. As for blowing out the background, you can adjust the levels and see if you can achieve some lightness there. I'm no photoshop expert, but it could be worth trying.

Just to humor me, can you do a tighter crop and frame that sweet face?

Oh, what the heck... Here's my edit... Love that little face... :)

Does not look good because of low resolution file, but you get the idea... Cropped, Adjusted levels a bit, added more saturation, and a little contrast,
Inner glow using a color picker from her pink cheeks. Would work nicely on your original full sized file.
