This is Flint. His mommy didnt want him when he was born. She placed him away from the litter and left him several times before eventually taking him when he was put back.

He's blind and deaf. Probably not completely b/c when he walks on the deck he finds the edge and seems to stop before completely running off or into things. We suspect he sees shadows. He doesnt respond to any sounds but today I went over by his ear and waved my hands (to make sure he wasnt responding to the shadow of the motion) and smacked them hard. He immediately reacted to the sound right in his ear, so he can hear something... a tad bit. But if you call him, stomp or any other sounds from the other dogs he doesnt even respond in the slightest.

He follows along with the other dogs when he's out in the yard. But if they run off too fast he spins in circles. His owners thought it was b/c he was searching for a scent trail, but I watched him a few times and it's my suspicion that when he spins he sees his tail's shadow (or whatever slight thing he sees) and is chasing it not knowing what it is. Who knows really.

His eyes are light and his spots are super light. He also has a few other issues, But he's cute and I like this pic so I thought I'd share.

He is a cute little bugger. Such a shame that he has a rough life ahead of him, but hopefully he will be loved by some special person. He needs his own seeing eye dog. With the hand clapping, he may have felt the breeze from the motion, rather than hear it. Do you have any other pictures of him?

I also think he felt the air when you clapped your hands. You need a sound source that doesn't produce too much air movement if you want to figure out if he is totally deaf.

I think I might have 1 BW pic, let me look.

On the clap it's possible he felt the breeze. He was eating in his little bowl when I went over. I slapped hard behind his ears and he put his head up, which astonished everyone, but we had doubts. My first thought was he saw some type of shadow out the corner of his eye. I waited till he went back to eating and went over and put my hands back behind his ear and moved them hard and fast, stopping short of touching and making a sound... to test if he saw any sort of shadow motions... and he didnt respond at all.

It's possible he felt a breeze though. I'd like to think I didnt slap harder or faster when I did it for real but it's possible I did.

He runs over if you pat the ground in front of him. I guess he feels the vibrations or smells.

Thanks for the comments everyone.
