Looking forward to the NYC POTN Meet next weekend. Here's one I shot this morning. First time for me doing a B&W conversion. I invite your comments.

Very nice shot. Black and white adds so much and gives more emotion.

Thanks, I'm glad you all liked it. You could say that I was thinking in B&W when I took the shot and agreed with myself when I got the file onscreen. I was happy with this because I've been trying to "see" that way a lot more lately.

I had to boost the contrast in the sky big time to get that little bit of wispy clouds to show. I plan to wait for a bit better cloud cover (more fluffy and better defined) and get out earlier in the morning to catch some softer light. I shot this around 9:15 AM so the light on the side of the bridge is kind of harsh and blown out in a few places, plus I had a nice big lens flare along the bridge span that took me a long time to mask. I used a CP as well here.

Only other thing I'll add is that I took this from the Manhattan side of the bridge walking along the South Street walkway that you can take down the east side of town to the South St. Seaport, which is a popular destination for tourists and a great place for locals to relax and exercise.

I have a couple more from that walk that I'll post soon once I get the PP right.

Thanks again.
