Hi guys.. I suck at watermarks

I just want a simple bar white bar with about 50% opacity and my name running along the left hand side?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Like this? Mine is at 28% and I use the Mogrify plug-in to add the bar and the logo.

You can create an action in Photoshop to do it. Takes 1-2 minutes max.

1-2 minutes if you already know what to do.

maybe 1-2 hours if you have no idea

Start with a blank/transparent layer in Ps. Make a white bar (or grey) and put your logo on the left side. Save as a .psd file. Use this file to set up a watermark preset in Lr. This way you can choose when to apply it; for example, I have Lr apply mine on export to flickr, but not if I'm exporting for print. It beats adding it in Ps and then having to have extra copies of the image hanging around.

Scatter, how do you set it to apply to the image when exporting to Flickr? That is a problem I am currently dealing with. When I export to the HD, it applies the WM, but when it goes to Flickr, the WM never appears. I used LR 5, but I bet the process is the same for any recent version of LR.
Thanks in advance.

sirquack,

I think you need to flatten the two layers into one.

I am not sure if all hosting sites will accept an image of two layers.

You need to set up a watermark preset in the export dialog of Lr.

I got it figured out thanks to you guys/gals. I had set up the watermark on my manual exports, but I had not set it up on the Flickr publish service. Thanks for the help everyone.
