We had this strange yellow ball in the sky, and no white fluffy things to mask it.
I am red raw know, but had a few shots:
A lovely beetle

A pretty moth/butterfly. It has a lovely red inner wing.

A lot of hovers in the garden  , and I was lucky enough to get a few shots in-flight.

The flowers are great as bees stop a while (unlike the lavender plants).

And no matter what we plant, the hovers still love weeds

That sure is a good looking beetle. A very nice series, Bas. Great achievement in getting that hover in flight!

#1 the whites on the flower are on the limit, but the insect is very well lit and diffused :)
#2 lacks DOF on the top (which is an important part of the picture), but its well placed on his eyes
#3 don't like the composition much...
#4 well caught, not easy.
#5 good light, the bee got a bit contaminated with the color of the flower, dunno if a local WB adjustment would do the trick.
#6 love the detail of the pollen, too much empty space at the bottom.
