ARGH. I just downloaded LR5 and was working on this photo, when *something happened and everything just SHIFTED in the adjustment brush panel. The photo is actually shifted from where the pins were originally placed and painted.

As you can see in the photo below, the part I painted on his FACE is now to the left of him. I've used LR3 for several years and never saw the likes of this!

Please -- any ideas? This is a lot of wasted work if I can't shift it back! I can't have this happen all the time.

You have two images selected -- looks like you applied the brush to the second (rightmost) one, and the same brush got applied to the first (leftmost) one also. Weird. I can't duplicate that with Lightroom 4, might be a new "feature" perhaps? :) (I should clarify after reading Tombu's comment below -- I can't duplicate it "accidentally", but can do so using the Synchronize function. However, that requires at least two clicks, so would be difficult to do without being aware of it. At least in LR4, Autosync does not synchronize applications of the local adjustment brush.)

It looks like you synchronized the adjustment brush from the picture on the right to that other one you have selected.

It does in LR5. If Autosync is on (intentionally or as in this case accidentally) the brush is applied to all selected images.

Ack! I still don't quite *get it, but at least you guys know that something specific happened and, since it was an accident on my end, it shouldn't be repeated! (I was worried it was a glitch with LR5.) Thanks so much! :)

Can't you simply Edit, Undo ( ctrl+Z)?!

You are not alone! I have several times had Auto Sync on without realizing it and applied inappropriate edits to a whole bunch of photos instead of just the one I was working on. Auto Sync can be a real time saver but it also has a nasty bite.

Or do Reset to the brush and redo it in the right place.

BTW, having movable masks, just as Radial and Grad filters and spot or brushed clone-heals are movable, is something that has been repeatedly requested and 'til now the answer has always been that it ain't easy but they're thinking on it.
