Found this in my yard one evening when I was catching moths for my tree frogs :)

Was hard to get a good pic...since it did not like being on it's back.... but these are the mites that live on them. They help protect them from parasitic wasps etc.

Thanks..... had to be around 2" long. Largest beetle I've ever seen around here. I thought click beetles were large :P I laid a light across the top of the bowl and took pics through the gap..... was like 2 in the morning lol But I didn't want to keep it away from it's plans any longer than necessary :P I imagine it had places to go and beetles to meet ;)
