Recently been intrigued by some recent shots from people that ive seen of abandoned building and wreckages. Where do people find about these places and how can I find out if there are places around where I live just outside of Philadelphia

Hello Mike. Just do a Google search for "abandoned Philadelphia". There's some pretty neat places to be found there. You seem to be in a good area for places.

I'm sure there must be a couple urban exploration groups in your area, try reaching out to them?

Have you been to Penn State Penitentiary?

Hi. I'm Mona, and this is my gear:

Canon Rebel T3i with kit lens (18-55); Canon 50mm 1.8 (Nifty Fifty, indeed!); Tamron 17-50 2.8 (non-VC); Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 II DC OS.
Canon G12

I'm just starting out, but you gotta start somewhere, right?

You still looking for someone to shoot Mike? I'm out in the burbs and there is an abandoned reformatory school I've been wanting to nose around. Let me know if you're interested. It's very run down, but they have a big old church boarded up as well.

Stewards petrified wood shop in Holbrook AZ. This is one of my personal classics since the last time I rode by there I saw that the graffiti has been removed aka BUFFED!
Taken with a CP.

Well, it's probably about a six hour drive from you, but the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston, WV does photography tours. http://trans-alleghenylunaticasylum.com/main/heritagetours.html (external link) I did it in the fall just the PM tour and it was really cool. The guide more or less gave us a few directions and let us loose. The main building is maintained, there wasn't hardly any furniture or such left behind, but some of the out buildings we had access to were crumbling.
