I hiked the 4 Mile Trail + Panorama Trail Loop with my friend over the July 4th weekend.
~18 miles (29km) in 101 F (38 C) degree heat with minimal shade most of the time.
I sucked down 6 liters of water.
I am glad i took the EOS M with me instead of a DSLR.

Route: Valley floor to Glacier Point via 4 Mile Trail. Glacier Point to Nevada Falls via Panorama Trail. Nevada Falls to Valley floor via Mist Trail.

Nice. We go up frequently, about once a month. I bet it was hot there over the 4th; I heard it was 105 degrees. Yuck. We like to drive up to practice our night photography & will go back to do star trails at Glacier Point next week.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

You must be a masochist to climb UP the Four-mile Trail in that heat. It's a lot more fun to just come down the trail. Good shots considering the summer smog/haze. That's a nice shot of Half Dome/Nevada Falls/Vernal Falls from below Washburn Point. I'm surprised there is still any water left as dry as last winter was.

Dark long sleeves shirt and pants in 100+ degree? Really? You must have high tolerance for extreme heat. I pass out in a few minutes if I wear that outfit in 100F.

Wow. That was a huge hike you did, and in 100+ degree weather. I was there the beginning of June and just did the 4 mile trail up and down. That was tough in and of itself. Great work.

honesty, i didnt feel the heat as I wore a hiking sun hat. but i knew it was hot as my jerky was hot when i was eating it, not warm, but hot.

Nice shots. I was out there 2 years ago and did the Panaroma trail. That's a wonderful hike and what different perspective seeing Half Dome's other side! If I remember that trail (Panaroma) is about 8 1/2 miles? My knees were turning to dust coming down those stairs at the mist trail towards the end. Kudos to you doing it in that heat!

That is sick heat.
Like the shot showing all the nature lovers up at the falls.
