For under $100. Actually it's $75 bucks and looks interesting. Anybody planning to get one or already has one?

I think an umbrella style octa with a small reflector disc would be far more versatile. I have a one of these discs, and when used without diffusion, looks nothing like a good dish.

For $75 I don't mind trying it out to see what result I'll get. The bad thing is that I don't see them mentioning anything about PCB alienbees strobe mount. :(

Fotodiox offers a 30" foldable octa with a disk that slides on the center rod. Works well without diffusion.

This BD and the new Luna Octobox looks quite interesting.

Still no reviews around though.

I am sad to see that both the Luna-BD and and Luna-octa are gridless.

Shame. :/

Would like to see light patterns before doing any sort of purchasing. Still looks like an umbrella to me.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

Hope it's not a big deal to bump this, but I own this light modifier. I also now own the 43" octabox version, but haven't tried that yet.

Here's a shot with it using the Balcar speedring on an Einstein, without the diffuser. The light was directly above my subject and probably about 3 feet away.
