This is the first day I got to use my "new to me" (used) 100mm 2.8 non IS, and these are some of the first shots. I definitely have some room to improve. They are natural light, and no tripod. I couldn't get my tripod to go low enough to the ground, dammit now I need a new tripod.

Anyways I thought they were worth sharing.

Some amateur advice if this is ok, In this type of harsh light you could easily pull F/13 or so witch will really help the DOF, typically i start around F/8 and work my way up, i'm a shaky individual and i can hand hold down to about 1/60 shutter or so, you got a lot of room to play :D

By all means, any advice is appreciated.

Your right I could have gotten away with a smaller aperture. I was worried about my ability to hand hold, and also there was a breeze that kept moving the grass. I guess I was too worried.
