Hey guys! I recently converted from Canon's DPP to LR5 and had a question about making basic changes to multiple files. I know you can copy the adjustments of one photos and paste it to another or you can sync the photos together but is there any easier way to make basic changes (say +1.0 exposure) to photos X, Y, and Z? In DPP, all I had to do was highlight all the photos, then go and change my exposure to +1 and all the photos would be set to +1 exposure. This was the same for WB, highlights, shadows, etc. Can I get LR5 to do this also?

Yep. Select multiple files, then press the Auto Sync button and start editing. If your button says Sync... then click the little toggle to the left of it to change it to Auto Sync.

Gotcha. So I MUST use the AutoSync property, right? No other way around it? I just it's just one click, but it's a different work flow from what I'm used to

It's not something I have used too often, but I think that if while you have Auto Sync on and you want to make a change to a single file toggling Auto off allows you to do that. Then toggle Auto back on to continue making adjustments to all of the files. I also like the previous button when going through images as a quick way to apply the settings of the LAST VIEWED (not the last edited) file to the current image. The only thing to be aware of is it applies everything, including crop and local adjustment brushes.

I may have misunderstood the original issue. I would say the answer to your question (above) is "no". If Auto Sync doesn't do what you want, there is also the (1) Sync... button (applies to multiple images) and the (2) Copy and Paste buttons (apply to a single image) for more manual control over what is and isn't synchronized, the (3) Previous button, or you can create an (4) Import Preset to be applied to all images as you import them. Along with Auto Sync that gives at least five different ways to do "batch" processing.

Gotcha. I'm going to have to try the "Sync" button. Thanks, Ace!

To add: If you select multiple files in Grid view, then add +1 stop exposure, the effect will be relative (an image that was at -0.33 will now be at +0.67, an image that was at 0 will now be at +1, an image that was at -1 will now be at 0, etc).
In the Develop module, the change will be absolute (all files go to +1).
